Settings
Reached by clicking your name at the bottom of the sidebar. Five tabs: Profile, Tax, Appearance, Years and Legal. Every change saves immediately and a “Saved” confirms it.
Profile#
| Setting | Detail |
|---|---|
| Photo | JPG or PNG; cropped to a square. Shown in the sidebar and on quick access. |
| Name | How the app greets you and how it signs the PDF and CSVs. |
| Username | Lets you sign in instead of with the email. Unique: if someone else uses it, it won't save. |
| Your account's email. Changing it asks for your current password to confirm. | |
| Password | “Change password”: at least 6 characters. You'll need it next time you sign in or unlock. |
Tax#
What decides how Fyal computes your taxes. Worth checking once and forgetting.
| Setting | Detail |
|---|---|
| Tax authority | Common territory (AEAT), Navarre, Álava, Bizkaia or Gipuzkoa. Changes the income-tax brackets and the instalment rule. Unset, the income-tax block doesn't compute. |
| Registration | Month and year you registered as self-employed. Decides whether you're in the first year, in the first two (Navarre) or under the ordinary regime, and from which quarter you're obliged. |
| Modelo 130 | Common territory only. “Only when mandatory”: if 70% of last year's income carried withholding, Fyal treats you as exempt. “Always, even if exempt”: computes and shows it anyway; what you advance comes back in the tax return. |
| Instalment method | Navarre only. The first two years the 2nd (current year) applies; from the third you may choose the 1st (previous year). |
| Hourly rate | Your base price per hour. Projects use it for profitability unless one has its own. |
| Currencies | The currencies offered when creating invoices and expenses. Search by code or name (“JPY”, “Swiss franc”) and add it. EUR is the accounting base and can't be removed. |
Appearance#
- Theme: light or dark. The change is a cross-fade of the whole interface at once. It can also be switched from the sidebar or with a right-click anywhere.
- Language: Spanish or English.
- Accent colour: the brand colour of buttons and highlights, from several presets or your own. It doesn't touch the income and expense colours, which stay green and red so they read the same.
All three are saved on your profile: they follow you to any browser or device you sign in from.
Years#
Fyal works per tax year, and here are the ones you have set up. Adding a year puts it in the selector at the top; removing one takes it out of the selector (any data it had isn't deleted, it just stops showing). The previous year — and in the Basque territories, the year before last — is needed for the instalment to compute on real data; if you don't have them, add them and enter at least their totals.
Legal#
The privacy policy and terms of use, the same ones linked from the app's footer. In short: your data is yours, stored encrypted on servers in the European Union and used only to provide the service; you can request access, correction, deletion or portability at any time.
